LOVE IS IN THE … GARDEN

If music be the food of love … and garden design

A Worcestershire based landscape design and construction business will be commemorating the 70th anniversary of Elgar’s death with the creation of a dramatic garden inspired by, and named after, the composer’s moving piece of music titled “Salut d’Amour”.

The garden, which is a joint collaboration between Worcestershire’s Scenic Blue and Rock Features (UK), depicts the ultimate romantic retreat. The paradisiacal setting will feature a magnificent cascading waterfall, a series of freshwater pools and a private pebble beach with a beautiful crescent shaped deck sheltered by verdant planting. Key to the design will be the use of spectacular rock structures to create a stunning backdrop and mesmerizing water features.

Stuart Wilkinson, owner of Scenic Blue Worcestershire says “with Worcester being the birth place of Elgar, we thought it would be fitting to design a garden as a tribute to the great composer. Salut d’Amour was dedicated to Alice Roberts who was later to become Elgar’s wife so the music obviously carries strong romantic undertones. We intend to successfully capture these intense emotions within our memorable garden design”

Salut d’Amour will be exhibited at the forthcoming Malvern Spring Gardening Show 2004.
