Media centre PRESS RELEASE
issued on behalf of Scenic Blue LOCAL LANDSCAPER LANDS NATIONAL AWARD
Scenic Blue Exeter , a local garden design and construction business is once again celebrating the sweet taste of success following the news that the company has been accredited with a further British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) National Award for the exceptional standard of workmanship demonstrated in the build of a Dawlish garden. The company, which was competing in the domestic garden scheme category (£10-50K) will receive the accolade at this year's official awards ceremony, due to take place in November. Scenic Blue is also in the running to pick up the prestigious Principal Award (outright winner) for its category, with the judges announcing their final decision at the awards lunch later this year. The award winning project represents the transformation of a previously uninspiring expanse of space to the front of a property, into a dramatic, ultra stylish front garden which oozes understated design appeal. The garden was designed by the Dawlish based Naila Green, a seasoned RHS medal winner with no less than 14 medals under her belt. The design incorporates an innovative approach to hard landscaping featuring a combination of granite setts and blue slate to create a totally natural palette of colours complemented by a carefully selected mixed planting scheme. Softly curving lines and strategically placed circles successfully maximize the space available in addition to providing a visually pleasing and welcoming entree to the house.
The established BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) Awards represent the ultimate accolade in the world of garden design and landscaping and Scenic Blue Exeter – which is owned by Andrew Duncan - is fast becoming a regular competitor at the event, having previously won the Principal Award in 2004. Andrew, who appeared on the BBC's Small Town Gardens programme (when he was required to construct a garden on a punishing slope with a gradient of nearly 1 in 2) is delighted with the latest BALI award which he believes firmly establishes Scenic Blue Exeter as a company committed to the delivery of consistent quality and highly skilled construction. Commenting on the achievement Andrew says “we are of course thrilled to have our work acknowledged by the crème de la crème of the landscape industry and we are extremely proud to be the recipients of a National Award, however, we are of course hopeful that we will be successful in our bid to win the category outright to make this the second year running that Scenic Blue Exeter walks away with a Principal Award”.
